Q: Can I edit my 3D reconstruction after scanning?
A: No. While altering a capture's geometry is not possible, adding detailed notes and measurements will help enhance your 3D model for better collaboration. You can use the measurement and annotation / note tools to add details or comments.
Q: How can I enable measurements in my Teleport capture.
A: Press the 'M' and follow the instructions on 'Measure'.
Q: What types of content can I place into my scene annotations / notes? (text, image & video, files & guides)
A: At this point in time, only text is able to be placed within annotations / notes. Reach out to [email protected] for other suggestions.
Q: How scale accurate are Teleport captures?
A: Within about 1% accuracy. Teleport captures can be considered "centimeter-level accurate."
Q: What is the purpose of the 'Scale' option in the measurement tool?
A: The 'Scale' option allows for calibration of a Teleport capture's measurement coordinate system relative to an object of known dimensions. For example, if a square is scanned with a known side length of 500mm, a measurement can be made on the side length. If it does not equal 500mm, the 'Scale' slider can be adjusted to match the known dimensions of the object, rectifying the scale accuracy of all other measurements as well.
Q: Will changing the 'Scale' value and then saving the measurements in a .json file also save the custom scale value?
A: Yes, the 'Scale' value will also be saved when saving measurements.
Q: Can I export out Teleport captures in other formats besides .ply?
A: No. Only .ply export is supported currently.
Q: What fidelity level do Teleport scenes export in?
A: Teleport exports out scenes in the highest fidelity model available (the HD model).
Q: Can I add digital objects to an existing capture?
A: The ability to add to an existing capture is unavailable currently.
