If the Teleport Unity app fails to install in an enterprise environment, it is likely due to IT restrictions that prevent users from having administrative rights. This often causes installation files to be placed in a directory inaccessible to the current user, making it impossible to run the application. Typically, Teleport installs into a directory only accessible by an administrator account, such as: "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\VarjoTeleport".

To resolve this, you may need to:

  • Work with your IT team to adjust the installation path or install Teleport for the current user profile.

  • Manually launch Teleport using the steps below as a temporary workaround.

The following steps will allow you to manually launch Teleport and experience the available scenes. This process involves locating the installation directory and using a command line to pass the scene identifier directly to the viewer. While this is a temporary workaround, it should help you evaluate Teleport until a more permanent solution is found.

Steps to Launch a Teleport Scene Manually

  1. Locate the Installation Directory
Find where Teleport was installed on the device:

    • If it was installed for the current user, it will likely be located here: "C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\VarjoTeleport".

    • If installed by an administrator, the path may be: "C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\VarjoTeleport".

    • You may need to work with your IT team to access this directory or reinstall Teleport for your user profile.

  2. Open PowerShell or Command Prompt
Launch either PowerShell or cmd.exe from the Start menu.

  3. Run the Launch Command
Execute the following command to launch Teleport, substituting the path to the Teleport executable as needed:

    C:\PATH\TO\VarjoTeleport\Teleport.exe Launch?sceneID=<SceneID>

Replace <SceneID> with the identifier of the scene you wish to view.

    • Example:

      C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\VarjoTeleport\Teleport.exe Launch?sceneID=57d5dee4f6a74a58ac22832b921e4c92-fvtpnftu551r
    • If the path is incorrect, the command line will return an error regarding a missing file or command.

  4. Get SceneID Values
A few example SceneIDs can be obtained from Teleport Public Gallery. When you open a specific capture from the public gallery or from those you created, you will find a unique identifier in the URL. Use this identifier as your <SceneID>.

Here are a few SceneIDs from publicly available scenes:

    • Ikonic Workshop:
      57d5dee4f6a74a58ac22832b921e4c92-fvtpnftu551r
